The Jump Aquathlon takes place at the Chula Vista Harbor. The transition and finish line are at the Chula Vista Bayside Park. The boat leaves from the California Yacht Marina a short walk from the transition area.

The Jump swim course is a 1500 meter single loop swim that starts by jumping off a boating San Diego Bay. Spectators are able to watch the athletes jump from the boat while standing on short and can easily view the entire swim. The bay is relatively shallow and the start is a short distance from shore so even tentative swimmers will feel comfortable.

After the swim, athletes will run up the sand beach and transition to the run. The scenic run course is three loops on the nearby waterfront path and roads. Spectators can view the athletes many times and they work their way through the race.
